Raspberry Pies - OH MY!
This is not a raspberry pie…
So I’m a big advocate of video games. No secret to those who know me, and something you could probably guess about a guy who builds gaming PCs for a living. But something you may not know is that my favorite games to play are almost all arcade games.
I started playing them at my local arcade / burger joint when I was a kid, and these games still give me the warm-and-fuzzies whenever I fire them up. The problem with playing them now is that arcades are largely a thing of the past, and playing them at home takes a lot of work to set up, if someone even has the know-how and the time to do it.
Well, not too long ago, I discovered the Raspberry Pie. If you haven’t heard of it, don’t worry. Just check out this article from the creators. In short, a Raspberry Pies are tiny computers that are programmable to do pretty much anything you want them to do. You can turn these computers into tiny robots, or calculators, or pretty much anything you can dream up.

There are lots of things to love about Raspberry Pies, but what’s really exciting to me about these tiny computers is that they’re perfect for playing old video games on! Shortly after hearing about Raspberry Pies, I decided to buy one and set up my first RetroPie (an operating system like Windows, but made for playing classic arcade and console games). Having been able to relive the best games of my childhood, I’ve decided to build them for the public! Built by me and loaded with software, so that others who have fond memories of the Golden Age of Gaming can once again experience these great times.
All the software for them is free, so all I charge for are parts and the labor to assemble the Raspberry Pie. If you too miss the Golden Age of Gaming, call or email me to order one of your own.
P.S. They also make great gifts!
